A Different Approach to Chronic Pain

Pain Reprocessing Therapy is an evidence-based treatment that addresses chronic pain at its source: your brain and nervous system.

Your pain is real, and you deserve relief.

  • Did your pain come out of nowhere?

  • Is it from an old injury that should have healed by now?

  • Do you feel stuck in a cycle of failed treatments?

  • Have other providers dismissed or minimized your pain?

  • Are you tired of endless specialist appointments and inconclusive tests?

If this sounds familiar, Pain Reprocessing Therapy might be right for you. It's an evidence-based, neuroscience-backed approach that treats pain at its source: your brain and nervous system.

How it works

What is Pain Reprocessing Therapy?

After injury or traumatic events, our bodies aren't the only thing that needs to heal. Our brains and nervous systems do, too.

Pain Reprocessing Therapy is an evidence-based treatment rooted in modern neuroscience that gets to the root of your pain by addressing it from a different perspective than typical strategies you find at the doctor's office or pharmacy. Sometimes chronic pain that we attribute to physical causes, like an old injury, is actually created by our brain and nervous system being on "high alert." When our brain is stuck in fight, flight, or freeze, it can misinterpret regular sensations from the body as dangerous, creating pain.

You might be wondering: is the pain all in my head? No. I promise. A false fire alarm is still an alarm. Your pain is real. It's just not coming from where you think it's coming from. When we understand where pain is actually originating, it shifts how we treat it. That's what makes PRT different from anything you've tried before.

The process

What to expect

PRT sessions are conducted via telehealth. Each session involves conversation, education, and practical skill building tailored to your experience.

Share your story

We start by talking about your pain: when it started, what treatments you've tried, how it's impacting your life, and what you're hoping to change.

Learn how pain works

Knowledge is power. You'll learn about neuroplastic pain and how your brain can create real pain in your nervous system, even without a physical cause.

Build your toolkit

You'll develop psychological techniques and body-based practices that change how your brain processes pain signals so you can finally find relief.

Go at your own pace

You choose the frequency that works for best for you: weekly sessions, monthly check-ins, or occasional support when pain flares. This is your process.

Meet your therapist

I believe you. And real relief is possible.

I'm Lexi Alberts, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, trauma therapist, and certified Pain Reprocessing Therapy provider based in Olympia, WA.

Before specializing in chronic pain, I spent over 10 years in social services supporting people through crisis and trauma. I bring that same care to this work.

My PRT clients have often been dismissed, doubted, or told their pain isn't real. You deserve someone who believes you. I do.
